I have never been prouder to be part of SCCOBA as I was on Friday night at the Larkin family 10-13 fund raiser. With a hurricane looming and pouring rain as I drove to Bayport at 2:30 all I could think of was how this night is going to be ruined and nobody was going to show. Well I couldn't have been more wrong.
The volunteers showed up early, we put tents together and despite the light rain everyone stayed positive and tackled the tasks at hand. By 5:45 we felt the last of the rain and in true SCCOBA fashion the members, families, friends, lawyers and Judges came in droves to support the Larking family. It is a night I will not forget.
I would like to thank the owner of Momos Too, Rich Comunale for his generosity. A huge thank you to Denise Zeitler who ran the raffles and crushed it. I would also like to thank SCCEA's Bill Dobbins, Joe Gagnone, and Danielle Vios for their help. Mostly I want to thank the members for once again proving no matter what the situation is, we will always have each others back.
